The Challenge

Your organization, like many others we have worked with, may be facing some challenges with your migration from previous versions of SAS to the latest release SAS 9.2 announced in San Antonio, Texas at the 2008 SAS Global Forum. Delays in the migration could affect data management, analysis and/or reporting which could be resulting in delays in management decision-making, fulfillment of regulatory requirements and other key business activities. Preparation, Planning and Experience are the key

The Qualex iQ_Migrate™ Service is designed to help existing SAS customers with their migration to SAS 9.2. It includes three modules:

Planning Module — Our consultants will work with your organization to build an upgrade and maintenance plan for your new SAS®9 version. We will consider hardware and operating environment issues than can affect your migration timeline. We will review any issues that are specific to your operating environments, including operating environment changes or upgrades. We will jointly provide a timeline.

Execution Module — Our experienced consultants will calculate whether your existing SAS files are compatible in your SAS®9 operating environment or whether you must migrate the files to SAS®9 format. We will work with your IT staff to create backups and benchmarks, install SAS 9.2, Migrate files and metadata and tune for performance, You can't be too safe with respect to backing things up each step of the way. We will provide reports that validate a successful migration.

Knowledge Transfer Module — we will work hand in hand with your IT staff and end users to transfer critical know how while we are on-site. We will also conduct specific workshops to make sure, once the migration is completed, you can keep using the best Enterprise Intelligence Platform to its fullest potential.

iQ_Job Scheduler Module — The job scheduler is a Qualex application written in SAS. This application is included without charge with your iQ_Migrate™ service. The main function of this pplication is to schedule operational jobs in a fast and reliable manner. In addition, iQ_Job Scheduler allows IT systems support to track operations in the system. It analyzes the growth of the SAS database, documents the time it takes a particular job to run. This way, a comparison with previos periods can be made based on regular system operation reporting. The scheduler is capable of capturing and consolidating information from servers in different operational environments. This application uses SAS EBI technology. Maintenance support staff can use the SAS portal to review maintenance reports. Scheduled jobs are administered using the SAS stored processes facility.
